PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of denitrating an exhaust gas in a melting furnace, capable of suppressing emission of NOx and an unburnt gas from a secondary combustion section to the external while reducing an amount of a reducing agent.SOLUTION: In this method, a first combustion process for burning the exhaust gas by supplying a first gas to a first gas supply section 21 of a secondary combustion section 2b, a denitrating process for denitrating the exhaust gas by supplying the reducing agent to a reducing agent supply section 22 of the secondary combustion section 2b, and a second combustion process for burning the exhaust gas after the combustion in the first combustion process by supplying a second gas to a second gas supply section 23 of the secondary combustion section 2b under an excess oxygen atmosphere, are executed. An amount of the first gas is determined so that an equivalent ratio of oxygen included in the first gas to a carbon monoxide in the exhaust gas introduced from a melting section 2a to the first gas supply section 21 is 1 or less, and concentration of carbon monoxide remaining in the exhaust gas after the combustion in the first combustion process, is lower than concentration causing producing of NOx in the second combustion process, so that NOx is not generated in the second combustion process. |
