PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reciprocating steam engine with simple structure, operated by low-pressure steam.SOLUTION: An engine body part 2 includes: first and second body cylinders 21A, 21B; first and second body pistons 22A, 22B; a piston rod 23; and first and second body intake/exhaust ports 24A, 24B. A motion conversion part 4 includes: a first engagement part 41 attached to the piston rod 23; and a second engagement part 42 eccentrically attached to an output rotational shaft 8 and engaged with the first engagement part 41. A motion control part 6 alternately achieves a first control state in which intake to the first body cylinder 21A and the exhaust from the second body cylinder 21B are performed at the same time and a second control state in which intake to the second body cylinder 21B and exhaust from the first body cylinder 21A are performed at the same time, based on action of first and second rotary valve members 73M, 73N rotated together with the output rotational shaft 8, in an intake/exhaust distribution switching mechanism mounted to the output rotational shaft 8. |
