In a solar cell, a main body section is formed by having at least one PN junction section wherein a P layer and an N layer are formed one over another in a front-rear direction. The end surface of the PN junction section forms a part of the side plane of the main body section, and the main body section has a front plane electrode on the front plane, and a rear plane electrode on the rear plane. The front plane electrode is provided with a terminal attaching section for bonding a front plane electrode connecting lead line for extracting photovoltaic by wire bonding or spot welding. On the front plane of the front plane electrode including the terminal attaching section and on the front plane of the main body section excluding the portion whereupon the front plane electrode is formed, a reflection protecting film is formed to cover each plane.
