PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a tire capable of improving low fuel economy performance, wear-resistance performance and processability at sufficient balance, and a heavy load tire having a tread produced using it.SOLUTION: The rubber composition for the tire includes a rubber component, silica and a silane coupling agent, and the rubber component contains a modified natural rubber having phosphorus content of 200 ppm or lower and a modified butadiene rubber. In 100 mass% of the rubber component, the content of the modified natural rubber is 45-95 mass%, the content of the modified butadiene rubber is 5-55 mass%, and the content of the silica relative to 100 pts.mass of the rubber component is 10-60 pts.mass. The silane coupling agent is obtained by copolymerizing a bonding unit B at a ratio of 1-70 mol% relative to the total amount of a bonding unit A represented by a specific chemical formula and the bonding unit B represented by a specific chemical formula. |
