PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device capable of maintaining the initial abutting state compared with a constitution using a conventional blade of a laminated structure; and to provide an image forming apparatus, process cartridge, intermediate transfer unit, and recording body conveying unit, each including the cleaning device.SOLUTION: The cleaning device 30 includes: a blade member 5 of a laminated structure, including a backup layer 2 and an edge layer 1 made of a material where the permanent set value is larger than that of the backup layer 2; and a blade holder 3 for holding the blade member 5. The cleaning device 30 cleans a surface of a photoreceptor 10 by bringing an edge section 1e as the tip ridge line section of the blade member 5 into contact with the surface of the surface-moving photoreceptor 10. A ratio of a thickness E of the edge layer 1 to a thickness B of the backup layer 2 at the holding tip 5d of the blade member is smaller than a ratio thereof at the blade tip 5a. |
