Disclosed is a prognostic method which provides a prognosis for recovery by detecting mammalian stage I pulmonary adenocarcinoma with an unfavourable prognosis, wherein the number of copies of ACTN4 in cells taken from the mammalian stage I pulmonary carcinoma tissue is measured. If the number of copies of the gene is greater than 4, the prognosis for the stage I pulmonary adenocarcinoma is unfavourable.
