Disclosed is a catalyst converter device which enables the prevention of the reduction in a heating effect of a catalyst carrier which is attributable to water droplets formed in an exhaust pipe. A holding mat (26) for holding a catalyst carrier (14) in a cylindrical case body (28) has a three-layered structure composed of an inner fiber layer (30), a solid layer (32) and an outer fiber layer (34). The solid layer (32) protrudes from the upstream-side edge surface (14A) of the catalyst carrier (14) toward the upstream side, and a gap (40) is formed between the protruding part (38) and the cylindrical case body (28). Water droplets attached on the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical case body (28) do not reach the catalyst carrier (14), because the protruding part (38) serves as a barrier for the water droplets.
