695,324. Making paper bags. HONSEL, C., [trading as MASCHINEN-BAU HONSEL & CO.] May 4, 1951 [Sept. 26, 1950], No. 10481/51. Class 94(ii) For producing a paper bag from a continuously delivered length of hose wherein a square bottom with large overlap of two flaps is formed, the hose 1, provided with incisions 2, Fig. 3, is fed by rollers 3, 4 towards a nose 7 which opens and folds back the hose at the top side about a fold 9 gripped by fingers 8 on the roller 3. In this operation, the sides of the opened hose collapse to form bottom flaps 10, 11, but the arrangement is such that by reason of the parts 12, 13 on the nose 7, the flap 11 is first laid flat and when the point of flap 11 reaches the pressing roller 14, is then followed by flap 10 to produce an overlap, Fig. 4. The distance of the pressing roller 14 from the top of the nose 7 may be adjustable. |
