Disclosed is a dynamo electric machine provided with voids (21) of a prescribed length (1mag) that correspond respectively to supporting units (20), and which are located a prescribed distance (1core) from permanent magnets (17a, 17b) in the flow direction (27) of flux (23), between the permanent magnets (17a, 17b) and a stator (13). The voids are capable of producing magnetic saturation when the electrical supply to a stator coil (24) is in a low current state, and are also capable of not producing magnetic saturation in times of maximum torque when electrical supply is in a high current state. Thus, while providing supporting units (20) with the simple configuration of voids (21), torque decline can be suppressed during a low torque state, decline of maximum torque can be suppressed during a time of maximum torque when in a high current state, and operation efficiency of a dynamo electric machine can be improved.
