PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure preventing a portion of a barrier wall from quickly damaging filtration function and continuing the capture of the material to be caught by means of the barrier wall with a large area when being used as a filter for catching material to be caught with the barrier wall and for filtering fluid.SOLUTION: The honeycomb structure 1 includes the porous barrier wall 2, a plurality of cells 3 serving as a flow channel of the fluid G and a plugging part 6 disposed on the cells 3, wherein a resistance part 11 is disposed which gives resistance to a flow of the fluid G on an intermediate part in the axial direction X of the cells 3 on a part or all of the cells 3 where the plugging part 6 is disposed on the side of a second edge surface 5 and, at the same time, causes a part of the fluid G to pass to the side of the second edge surface 5. |
