PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow calculation of a difference value corresponding to one-to-multiple between an example sentence pattern and a word string of a text sentence without depending on pattern automatic extraction technology, and to translate an input sentence with high accuracy with a small calculation amount by use of an obtained reference parallel translation pattern.SOLUTION: A translation device 20a includes: a calculation means 4a associating the word string of the input sentence and a reference example sentence pattern including a fixed item and a variable item, and calculating a distance value wherein relation to the word string of the input sentence permits one-to-multiple correspondence relation about at lest the variable item; an extraction means 5 extracting correspondence relation between a candidate pattern deciding a minimum distance value of the distance values between all candidate patterns and the input sentence word string calculated by the calculation means, and the input sentence word string; a selection means 6 selecting the correspondence relation extracted by the extraction means; and a translation means 7 translating the input sentence based on the correspondence relation selected by the selection means. |
