PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress image defects due to change of physical properties of a contact member contacting with an image carrier against environment, in an image forming apparatus including the rotatable image carrier to which lubricant agent is supplied.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus predicts whether or not the image defect due to the change of the physical properties of the contact member contacting with the image carrier against environment occurs based on information on temperature and humidity. When the apparatus predicts occurrence of the image defect, the image carrier is rotated without image forming on a recording medium. This improves uniformity of the lubricant agent on the image carrier and suppresses occurrence of the image defects. |
