PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating liquid for a undercoat layer and an efficient production method of the liquid which is superior in dispersibility and stability with the lapse of time has superior application properties on the surface of a conductive support and can form a uniform undercoat layer, to provide a photoreceptor using the coating liquid for an undercoat layer, the photoreceptor having proper image characteristics with little changes in the electric characteristics by repeated use, and to provide an image forming apparatus that includes the photoreceptor.SOLUTION: The method for producing a coating liquid for the undercoat layer of an electrophotographic photoreceptor includes subjecting the mixture solution of binder resin; an organic solvent that dissolves the binder resin; and fine particles of a metal compound, to a dispersion treatment under conditions that satisfy expression (1): Tm/TL≥2.5, wherein Tm (°C) represents the melting point of the binder resin and TL (°C) represents the liquid temperature of the mixture solution, to obtain the coating liquid for the undercoat layer of an electrophotographic photoreceptor. |
