PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object dimension measuring method and an object dimension measuring device capable of achieving dimension measurement accuracy exceeding a resolution of a camera only by arranging a distance image camera.SOLUTION: This method includes: a first imaging process for acquiring a first distance image by imaging in the state where nothing is placed on a mounting surface; a mounting surface equation calculation process for calculating an equation of the mounting surface based on the first distance image; a second imaging process for acquiring a second distance image by imaging so that at least an upper surface of a rectangular parallelepiped placed on the mounting surface is reflected; an upper surface equation calculation process for calculating an equation of the upper surface based on the second distance image; and a dimension calculation process for projecting the upper surface wherein the equation is calculated in the upper surface equation calculation process on the mounting surface in the second distance image, calculating respectively total values of each range width in the horizontal axis direction and in the vertical axis direction of the projection of the upper surface, while rotating the mounting surface, and calculating the total value at a rotation angle which becomes minimum as a total value of dimensions of two adjacent sides on the upper surface. |
