In a ball-point pen having a reservoir in the form of a vented tube, at the end of the ink column remote from the ball, a liquid or semiliquid seal is provided which is substantially immiscible with the ink, constitutes a continuation of the ink column, and retains or assists in retaining the ink column in position to prevent leakage. The description is substantially the same as that of Specification 695,621, which is referred to but the claims differ.
