PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming apparatus capable of calculating a correct amount of displacement without being affected by displacement of a beam which exposes a photoreceptor for each color.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus forms an electrostatic latent image by exposing the surface of the photoreceptor with a plurality of beams emitted from a light source which has a plurality of light-emitting points for each color, on the basis of image data for each color, develops the electrostatic latent image into a toner image, and transfers the toner images onto an intermediate transfer belt 21 and combines them to form a color image. In the image forming apparatus, toner patterns Pa1 to Pa4 of predetermined shape for adjusting the positions of the corresponding color images are formed on the intermediate transfer belt 21, and displacement for each color is calculated/corrected on the basis of the result of the detection of the toner patterns. When forming the toner patterns for each color, the toner patterns are formed by combining all beams with writing beams made different from one another. |
