668,988. Planing wood. AITTOMAKI, L. J. April 28, 1950, No. 10520/50. Class 145 (i). A wood-planing machine comprises two crossed shafts 2, 7 connected by helical gears indicated generally at 5. Each shaft carries cutters 3, 4 and 8, 9 so that by passing a workpiece 10 between cutters 3 and 8 two sides of the work can be planed, and then by passing the workpiece 15 back through cutters 4, 9 the other two sides may be machined. Feed rollers 11, 12 and 17 may be provided, also pressing bars and rollers, one of the latter being indicated at 19. |
