PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens apparatus for performing data communication with an external apparatus connected to a communication connector by a predetermined communication protocol, the lens apparatus configured to enable data communication with an external apparatus without switching a communication port to which the external apparatus is connected, by a hardware configuration, such as switching the communication protocol of a communication port in the lens apparatus according to the external apparatus, even if the communication protocol of the external apparatus connected to the communication connector varies according to the type of machine or the like.SOLUTION: The control unit 12 of the lens apparatus 10 includes the communication port 20 which performs data communication with a camera body 50 connected to the connector 40 of the lens apparatus 10. A user can switch a communication protocol for data communication performed through the communication port, by selecting from among a plurality of types of communication protocols by use of a communication protocol selector 60. When a user selects a communication protocol matching the communication protocol of the camera body 50 by use of a communication protocol selector 60, communication with the camera body 50 becomes possible. |
