METAL POROUS TANTALUM USED AS MEDICAL IMPLANT MATERIAL AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

A porous tantalum used as medical implant material is of a foam structure with three dimensional interconnecting pores. There is a sintering neck structure between the tantalum particles. The method for preparing the porous tantalum comprises the steps of using the tantalum powder and the solution prepared by mixing an organic binder and a dispersant to obtain the tantalum slurry, casting the tantalum slurry into an organic foam body to immerse until the pores of the organic foam body are full of the tantalum slurry, drying to remove the dispersant in the organic foam body in which the tantalum slurry is cast, degreasing to remove the organic binder and the organic foam body in the protective environment of inert gas, and then vacuum sintering to obtain the porous sintered body. The porous tantalum is of high porosity and good ductility.
