Disclosed is a projector which can solve a problem of having a projection image disturbed due to a shift of the input position of projection light with respect to a screen. A projection unit (11) includes an LD light emitting unit (111), and a scanning unit (112), which scans output light outputted from the LD light emitting unit (111) and projects light to the rear surface of the screen. A control unit (12) projects an image that corresponds to image signals to the screen using the projection unit (11), by controlling, corresponding to image signals, the quantity of the output light outputted from the LD light emitting unit (111), and a scanning angle of the scanning unit (112). On the basis of the refractive index of the transmitting unit of a screen supporting member and the scanning angle of the scanning unit (112), the control unit (12) corrects the direction of pixel projection light that corresponds to each of the pixels of an image, said pixel projection light being projected from the projection unit, and the control unit corrects the input position of the pixel projection light on the screen.
