The device has a powering unit (12) i.e. battery-charging unit, receiving a power signal, and a power signal filters producing a filtered achievement signal that is compared with a threshold level. A temperature sensor (16a) is checked on basis of the comparison result of the filtered achievement signal with the threshold level. The filtered achievement signal is linked with a signal of a measured temperature, and the signal of the measured temperature corresponds to temperature measured value of mechanisms positioned within the powering unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for testing a temperature sensor in a car.
