The method involves measuring a parameter i.e. output signal of a tank content sensor (8), based on a loading condition of a vehicle, and outputting a control value based on condition of a manually-operated operating element (5) i.e. electrical potentiometer. Another control value i.e. electrical-resistance value provided by the operating element, is produced from the former control value and the parameter. Inclination angle (alpha) of light emission of a vehicle headlight (1) is adjusted based on the latter control value by an adjusting device (3) that is coupled to a control device (4). An independent claim is also included for a method for adjusting inclination angle of light emission of a vehicle headlight.
