The base (3) has a receiving hole i.e. blind hole, formed in a front surface (S1) for retaining a light source (4) e.g. gas discharge lamp. Flow openings (01-06) are arranged parallel to the hole. A radial spacing element (5) is arranged at a side surface (S2). A helical spring is arranged as the spacing element for circulating the base and laterally projecting the side surface. The openings are concentrically arranged in the base and partial vertically penetrated through a recess (V). A feed-through opening is connected to the blind hole for feed-through of electric conductors (6, 8). The receiving hole exhibits diameter corresponding to outer diameter of the light source. The base is manufactured from aluminum. An independent claim is also included for a lamp comprising a light source and a cladding element.
