<p>An apparatus and method for efficiently interpolating and rendering transformed images on mobile devices are provided. The method includes obtaining a plurality of super pixels by virtually increasing a resolution of the original image, determining a sampling position of a target image pixel under transformation, selecting the nearest super pixel from the plurality of super pixels for the target image pixel, and determining a characteristic of the selected nearest super pixel for the target image pixel. The apparatus and method render a transformed image having image quality comparable to that achieved by bilinear interpolation method while significantly reducing the necessary calculation cost.</p> |
