A till or cash receptacle e.g. the drawer of a cash register, comprises a plurality of interchangeable members 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 adapted to be selectively positioned within a tray so as to form cash compartments whose number and whose dimensions both laterally and longitudinally of the tray can be varied at will. Thus two full width coves 8, 9 and two half width coves 12 can be positioned in channels 21 in the base 1 of a tray having side walls 3 and front and rear walls 4, 5. The coves are slotted at 15 in the back and at 14 for the whole depth at the front receive a multiplicity of partitions 10, 11, 13 at any desired spacing. As shown the partitions are made in three sizes and the rear vertical edges are received in slots 14 while lugs at the front edges are received in slots 15. A notch 17 is provided in each partition for the , reception of transverse retaining bars (not shown) which are also received in notches 19 in the sides of the tray to which they are secured. In addition to full and half width coves, quarter width coves may be used e.g. one of the coves 12 is replaced by a quarter width cove and the corresponding partition 13 is replaced by a patition 11. The coves and partitions are preferably made of thermosetting plastic, the former being-hollow. |
