Atmospheric plasma treatment of tire cords

The present invention is directed to a method of treating a cord. The method comprises the steps of providing an atomized mixture of at least one polymerizable monomer, at least one halogenated hydrocarbon, and at least one carrier gas; generating an atmospheric pressure plasma using the atomized mixture; and exposing the cord to the atmospheric pressure plasma.
