A semaphorin 3D, 3E or 3G having an amino-acid sequence at least 95% identical to the sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:36, SEQ ID NO:37 or SEQ ID NO:38 for use in treating a disease associated with angiogenesis. The disease associated with angiogenesis may be cancer, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, atherosclerotic plaques, corneal graft neovascularization, hypertrophic or keloid scars, proliferative retinopathy, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, granulation, neovascular glaucoma or uveitis. A pharmaceutical composition comprising as an active ingredient semaphorin 3D, 3E or 3G having an amino-acid sequence at least 95% identical to the sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:36, SEQ ID NO:37 or SEQ ID NO:38 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
