PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical device which keeps a capacity retention rate high even if it is repeatedly charged and discharged in an environment of high temperature and high humidity after it is subjected to reflow soldering. SOLUTION: The electrochemical device is equipped with: a separator; a pair of polarizable electrodes disposed confronting each other through the separator; an electrolyte impregnating the polarizable electrodes and separator; an outer lid and an outer case which contain the separator, the pair of polarizable electrodes, and electrolyte; and a gasket disposed between the side walls of the outer lid and outer case. The opening top of the outer case is curved inward to hermetically seal up a housing space formed by the outer case and outer lid. The electrochemical device is characterized in that the gasket is made of butyl rubber, and SBP-BF<SB>4</SB>(spiro (1,1')-bipyrrolidium-tetrafluoroborate) is used as a supporting salt of the above electrolyte.
