PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording system and an inkjet recording method for recording a high quality image under highly reliable state by controlling the position and timing at which an ink drop is imparted to a recording medium preferably. SOLUTION: The inkjet recording system comprises an arrangement for determining the recording position of a dot at the time of binary recording with reference to a mask pattern when multipass recording is performed. Since the recording position where ink is imparted to a recording medium and record scanning for imparting ink to the recording position can be controlled, required image quality and reliability can be attained in compliance with the purpose.
