摘要 An organic electroluminescent device 200 having a plurality of pixels, comprising an anode 204 formed on a substrate, an organic electroluminescent layer 208 formed on the anode in each well of a well-defining layer 206 to form the plurality of pixels. The device also has a cathode layer 210 on the electroluminescent layer 208 and a layer of metal on the top surface of the well-defining layer 210. In addition a conductive layer 212 is deposited over the cathode layer 210 and the metal layer. The conductive layer electrically connects the cathode layer 210 with the metal layer on the top surface of the well-defining layer 206. The conductive layer can be made from metal oxide such as zinc oxide, and will generally have a higher electrical resistance than that of a metal interconnect. This resistance is used to limit the current in the event of a short circuit occurrence in the electroluminescent device.
