Process and device for the purification of fumes containing acidic pollutants

The method involves circulating fume (1) to be purified at temperature ranging between 120 and 250 degree Celsius through a water vapor generator (103) to lower temperature of the fume to be purified of 5 to 40 degree Celsius while producing water vapor (3) at pressure ranging between 1 and 5 absolute bars. The fume to be purified from the generator is supplied to a gas-solid separator (101). A part of solid residues (12) issued from an engine (102) and a part of gas (12') issued from the engine are recycled toward the separator. An independent claim is also included for a fume purifying installation comprising a water vapor generator.
