702,363. Electromagentic switches. HAZELTINE CORPORATION. March 11, 1952 [May 1, 1951], No. 6321/52. Class 38(5) A switch for connecting a high-frequency coaxial transmission line to either of a pair of such lines comprises a conducting chamber with a coaxial connector 28 fixed to its end wall 12 and two similar coaxial connectors 22, 23 fixed to its cylindrical side wall. The outer conductors of all three connectors are thus electrically connected while the inner conductors 30, 26, 27 extend into the chamber. When the parts shown in Fig. 1 are assembled the ends of the inner conductors lie in a V-shaped cavity 17 in a disc 13 and a contact blade 39, which may be rotated by an electromagnet 11 against a return spring 43, rests permanently against the end of the conductor 30 and engages either the conductor 26 or (as shown, Fig. 2) the conductor 27. The shaft 41 may also be rotated by hand to operate the contact blade 39. Specification 611,393, [Group XXXVI], is referred to.
|
