Substituted heteroaryl pyridopyrimidone derivatives as GSK3-beta inhibitors

A pyrimidone derivative represented by formula (I) as defined in the claims, or salt or solvate or hydrate thereof. The compounds are GSK3-beta (glycogen synthase kinase 3-beta) inhibitors and used in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases including; Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, tauopathies, vascular dementia, acute stroke, traumatic injuries, cerebrovascular accidents, brain cord trauma, spinal cord trauma, peripheral neuropathies, retinopathies and glaucoma. The compounds are also used in the treatment of non-insulin dependent diabetes, obesity, manic depressive illness, schizophrenia, alopecia and cancers.
