Disclosed herein are crystalline polymorph form II of 3-chloro-N-(3-chloro-5-trifluoromethyl-2-pyridy)-á,á,á-trifluoro-2,6dinitro-p-toluidine (fluazinam) exhibiting at least one of the following characteristics: a) an X-ray powder diffraction pattern having characteristic peaks expressed in degrees 2è (+/-0.2°è) at about 7.4, 10.4, 13.4, 15.1, 18.95, 20, 20.4, 21.05, 21.3, 22.2, 24.9, 27.15, 28.6 and 30.5; b) a predominant endotherm at about 109°C as measured by a Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) at a scan rate of 10°C per minute. Also disclosed are processes for the preparation of crystalline polymorphs above, compositions comprising said polymorphs and uses thereof. The compositions are useful in combating insects, mites, fungus and bacteria.
