Disclosed herein are pyrido[2,3-d] pyrimidin-7(8H)-one compounds of formula I, wherein the substituents are defined within the specification, compositions comprising said compounds and use of such compounds in the treatment of cancer, particularly breast cancer, colon cancer, rectal cancer, endometrial cancer, gastric carcinoma, glioblastoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, small cell lung cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, melanoma, ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, pancreatic cancer, prostate carcinoma, acute myelogenous leukaemia (AML), chronic myelogenous leukaemia (CML) or thyroid carcinoma.
