The method involves projecting fluid i.e. water, mixed with other components i.e. alcohol, along washing and de-icing cycles activated by controllers (4, 5) based on information measured by a sensor (9). The fluid for the washing cycle is projected toward front and/or rear with a movement and on a certain angular projection range of the fluid on a glass pane (2). The fluid for the de-icing cycle is projected toward the front and/or the rear with another movement and on the certain angular range of projection of the fluid on the pane. The information is selected from external temperature and/or displacement speed of the pane. The sensor is selected from fouling or transparency type optical sensor or brush speed sensor or over current sensor in an engine (8). An independent claim is also included for a windscreen wiper system for a glass pane of a motor vehicle, comprising a movable assembly.
