The lift has a control unit accommodated in a cover of a lift cab (6) behind a removable, rotatable or adjustable part. The control unit moves the lift from a cab interior with the closed cab in service mode. The control unit is hung on a cable and removable from a storage table so as to operate the control unit from any point in the cab interior. The control unit is implemented as a stationary control module, a mobile sensor and a wireless sensor. The cab is equipped with associated plug points, so that the mobile sensor is connectable to the plug points by using a plug cable.
