CONTINUOUS MOTION PACKAGING SYSTEM

Disclosed is a system and method for packaging articles. The system includes a carton conveyor which moves a series of cartons along a path of travel, an article infeed conveyor for feeding the articles to the cartons, and a series of selector wedges mounted on the carton conveyor. The selector wedges are adapted to engage and cause a gusset portion of each carton to be tucked inwardly as the carton is folded about a group of articles. Each of the selector wedges is spaced apart so as to define flights on the carton conveyor into which the articles are fed. Each of the selector wedges includes at least one gusset tucking finger for engaging and tucking the gusset portion of a carton engaged by said selector wedge.
