An article (10) of clothing for a baby is disclosed. The article (10) includes a shell portion (12) that substantially encloses the torso and arms of the baby (18). The arms of the baby (18) are generally free to move within the shell portion (12). The shell portion (12) has at least one restraining member (32) that is located internally for engagement with each arm or hand (12) of the baby (18). This restraining member (32) substantially prevents the baby (18) from moving its arms within the shell portion (12) to the other side of its body. The restraining member (32) comprises a pocket which extends over the entire respective front half of the torso. The lower arm and hand (42) are received within the pocket.
