The method involves producing partial persistence attenuation signal from a vibration signal, representative of a guitar wire (2), where the partial persistence attenuation signal is representative for a partial contact and partial persistence attenuation value of a contact audio signal i.e. residual contact audio signal, from a prior excitement contact to the partial contact. The synthesized audio signal from the partial contact is produced by mixing the contact audio signal of the partial contact and each affected residual contact audio signal of the partial persistence attenuation signal. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for synthesizing an audio signal from a sequence signal representing a sequence of contacts in a guitar wire (2) a removable recording medium comprising a set of instructions for implementing a method for synthesizing an audio signal from a sequence signal representing a sequence of contacts in a guitar wire (3) a computer program comprising a set of instructions for implementing a method for synthesizing an audio signal from a sequence signal representing a sequence of contacts in a guitar wire.
