A crystal oscillator device with temperature compensation is disclosed. The oscillator is constructed inside an air-tight case (1) forming a vacuum chamber (23) and has a piezoelectric resonator element (11) mechanically coupled to an integrated-circuit chip (13) containing oscillation circuitry, a temperature sensor and a heating unit. The piezoelectric resonator element and the oscillation circuitry are connected together to form an oscillation circuit. The piezoelectric resonator element is mounted onto the active surface of the integrated-circuit chip (13) in a heat conductive manner.
