The device (10) has an evaporator (22) and an internal heat exchanger (16) crossed in succession by an air flow (F). An external heat exchanger (14) is connected to a switching unit (24) i.e. three-way valve, by a pipeline (36) and with an accumulator (20) by an inlet/outlet pipe (50). The switching unit is selectively in a position in which the pipeline is in communication with another pipeline (32) connected to an outlet (34) of a compressor (12), and another position in which the former pipeline is in communication with a connection pipe (42) connected to an inlet (44) of the compressor.
