Disclosed are antibodies that are specific for CD38. The antibody comprises a heavy chain CDR1, CDR2 and CDR3 depicted in SEQ ID NO: 21, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 100, 101, 102, 103 or 105 and a light chain CDR1, CDR2 and CDR3 depicted in SEQ ID NO: 51. The antibody can comprise a heavy chain having SEQ ID NO: 21 and a light chain having SEQ ID NO: 51. The antibody can be used to treat a haematological disease selected from multiple myeloma, chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, chronic myelogenous leukaemia, acute myelogenous leukaemia and acute lymphocytic leukaemia. The antibody can also be used to treat an inflammatory condition selected from rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. The antibody can be used in a method for inducing specific killing of tumour cells by CD38 cross-linking. |
