PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road information providing device providing road information such as traffic information and route information to terminal devices using different map data, wherein the load in link conversion processing when a terminal device specifies a road section is reduced so that the provided road information is correctly reproduced on a map of the terminal device. SOLUTION: A road information device performs processing of associating a road link string expressed in a point coordinate string with a road link string of specified map data. Point coordinate strings not associated in this processing are recorded, and by combining the recorded point coordinate strings, a new point coordinate string is created. By repeating the processing of associating the new point coordinate string with the road link string of the map data, a decode table 902 is generated as a road link conversion means. The road information providing device distributes the road information associated with terminal map data by road link conversion using the decode table 902 to terminal devices.
