PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a neutral endopeptidase inhibitor having an excellent neutral endopeptidase inhibitory activity and useful as a metabolite of a morphine-based substance, i.e. as an analgesic or anti-hypertensive. SOLUTION: This neutral endopeptidase inhibitor which is a plant galenical, includes an extract of rhubarb of Polygonaceae and/or Sophora japonica which is a plant belonging to the genus Sophora of Leguminosae and also called as yellow wisteria as an alias, as an active ingredient.
