<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink for an undercoat layer, which shows excellent store stability and continuous ejection stability and can provide excellent adhesiveness to an image layer with respect to various kinds of recording media, an inkjet recording method using the ink, and printed matter obtained using the ink. <P>SOLUTION: The ink for an undercoat layer is used for forming an undercoat layer disposed between a recording medium and an image layer provided on the recording medium and formed of an image forming ink.
