WATER DISPERSIBLE POLYANILINE MADE WITH POLYMERIC ACID COLLOID FOR ELECTRONICS APPLICATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide improved conductive polyaniline with good processability and increased conductivity.

SOLUTION: A method includes steps of: (a) providing an aqueous dispersion of a colloid-forming polymeric sulfonic acid; (b) mixing an oxidizer with the dispersion of the step (a); and (c) mixing an aniline monomer with the dispersion of the step (b) to obtain aqueous dispersions of polyaniline. Optionally, the method includes the steps of: (b) mixing the aniline monomer with the dispersion of the step (a); and (c) mixing the oxidizer to the dispersion of the step (b) to obtain the aqueous dispersions of polyaniline. The polymerization is carried out in the presence of a specific auxiliary dispersion liquid which is added to the reaction mixture at any point in the prior to the addition of either the oxidizer or the aniline monomer, whichever is added last.
