PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a frame for a rotary electric machine wherein rolling by four rolls is made possible by optimizing the positions where ventilation windows for cooling the interior are formed, thereby preventing distortion due to bending when rolling. SOLUTION: The frame for a rotary electric machine used in an open type rotary electric machine is the frame 1 for a rotary electric machine equipped with a region A where a plurality of windows 2 for ventilation are formed continuously in order to cool the interior, and the intervals of the ventilation windows 2 formed continuously are substantially constant.
