PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clock that does not display wrong time even when touched by hand and can reduce power consumption to a low level. SOLUTION: A minute hand rotation driving mechanism 30 includes a minute hand driving transmission part 36a capable of rotating a minute hand gear 26 by driving force repeatedly generated by a minute hand driving motor 34; a minute hand lock part 36b that can be shifted to a minute hand rotation regulating state and a minute hand rotation allowing state in conjunction with the operation of the minute hand driving transmission part 36a; and a minute hand rotation detection switch 38 for detecting the state of the minute hand lock part 36b. When the minute hand driving motor 34 generates driving force while the minute hand lock part 36b is in the minute hand rotation regulating state, the minute hand lock part 36b is shifted to the minute hand rotation allowing state, the rotation gear 26 is rotated by driving force by the minute hand driving transmission part 36a, and a minute hand disc is rotated to display an advanced time. Then, the minute hand lock part 36b is shifted to the rotation regulating state, and the minute hand rotation detection switch 38 detects it and the minute hand driving motor 34 stops generation of driving force based on a detection signal from the minute hand rotation detection switch 38.
