PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generation system for a gas engine, which quickly charges a load as much as possible by improving an initial load charge rate in summer, and improves merchandise strength. SOLUTION: This power generation system E for a gas engine includes: a gas engine 10; a generator 11 to be driven by the gas engine 10 to generate power; and a starting control means H for controlling the starting of the gas engine 10 and the generator 11 and for controlling charge of the power, which is generated in the generator 11, into an electric load L according to the power generated by the generator 11. The gas engine 10 is configured to start in a load charge rate improved state wherein the gas engine 10 is started by sucking dry air D alone or sucking mixed air of the dry air D and outside air A.
